BASE PLATES:

Hot rolled steel plates secured to the ground floor slab with sleeve anchors (countersunk option available upon request) Plate size dictated by mezzanine column load and existing ground floor slab construction.

COLUMNS:

Rolled hollow section or structural universal ‘I’ columns depending on design criteria – a typical column will only be 100mm square.

MAIN BEAM:

Universal beams sometimes known as ‘I’ beams – depth will be dictated by design but can be as little as 152mm.

All the above painted in an air drying enamel paint.

SECONDARY JOISTS:

Inward lipped pre-galvanised C sections joists cleated into the depth of the main beam.

DECKING:

Standard decking options include 38mm moisture resistant particle board, steel plate, open mesh.

HANDRAIL:

The usage of the floor will determine the type of handrail system provided, from polished stainless steel, industrial, mesh or solid Vanguard will design the system that best suits your needs.

PALLET GATES:

Up and over gates provide a safe loading solution, steel protection plates with front edge protection are also recommended.

STAIRCASE:

Building Regulations require the designer to take into consideration safe access, means of escape and DDA compliance. Our range of staircases will be designed to suit your needs, from stainless steel with glass infill's to standard industrial staircases.

FIRE RATING:

We are able to fire rate the mezzanine structure via ceilings, fascia boards and column cladding. The rules on fire rating are complex and need to be assessed on an individual basis.

BUILDING REGULATIONS:

All mezzanine floors require Building Regulation approval. We are able to apply and liaise, on your behalf, with Approved Inspectors or to Local Authority Building Control directly.
